Wang’s work primarily incorporates mixed media, exploring various creative possibilities based on personal experience and observation. His pieces often integrate sensory perception and spatial dynamics. His recent works focus on the events that occurred in the past, are unfolding in the present, and may take place in the future, all within a given space. These events are reinterpreted through various imagined narratives, piecing together memories and possibilities. The exploration extends from personal surroundings and life experiences to a broader social consciousness and collective relationships, attempting to probe the ambiguous boundary between fiction and reality.

The Garden seeks to evoke a state of mind akin to Borges’ following description: “ I thought of a maze of mazes, of a sinuous, ever growing maze which would take in both past and future and would somehow involve the stars.” The Garden-Hualien extends this concept, shifting its subject from the Danshui River to the Lingding archaeological site in Hualien, where the collected objects like stones and oyster shells give way to pottery shards, soil, and remnants of post-excavation findings. During the process of wandering, these objects conjure within the wanderer an imagination of their existence within the dimensions of time and space, as if wandering through a labyrinth of time. Garden-Hualien #9 represents the ninth sphere in the Garden-Hualien series.
